Patricia hires four notorious gunfighters in hopes of finding the killer and bringing him to justice. "Flaming Fortune" is a wonderful tale of love and greed in which repeated attempts are made to break the spirit of hard-working Henry Ireton. But even arson, which wipes out Ireton's holdings in one night, won't make him quit. In the title story, James Lang is hired to guard a valuable, isolated gold mine into which he has instructions never to venture. It's a lonely existence with only a dog for company - until the shooting begins.
